Local decisions often unfold across years of agendas, minutes, budgets, contracts, studies, election documents and news reports. Enid Public Record brings those pieces together so readers can see the timeline, the money, the claims, the evidence and the questions that remain unanswered.
Our goal is not to tell readers what conclusion to reach. The goal is to make the record easier to inspect so readers can reach their own informed conclusions.
HOW WE WORK

Build the chronology
We try to show how an issue developed over time instead of presenting only the latest argument or announcement.
Separate evidence from claims
A statement by a supporter, critic, official or campaign can document what that person says. It does not automatically establish the statement as fact.
Show uncertainty
If an important record is missing, disputed or still pending, we say so rather than filling the gap with an assumption.
Link the sources
Readers should be able to move from our explanation back to meaningful original material whenever the source is publicly available.
Update the record
Deep dives may change as new documents arrive. Material additions and corrections should be reflected in the page and its update date.
INDEPENDENCE
Not the City. Not a campaign.
Enid Public Record is not an official City of Enid website and is not affiliated with a political campaign, candidate, political party, PAC or advocacy organization.
Relevant evidence belongs in the record whether it supports a proposal, raises concerns about it or complicates a popular narrative. We aim to distinguish verified fact, analysis, opinion and unanswered questions.
WHY NO INDIVIDUAL BYLINE?
The work is published under the project name.
Enid Public Record is published under the Enid Public Record name rather than an individual byline. The intent is to keep attention on the documents, methodology and public questions rather than on the personality of the person doing the research.
That does not reduce our responsibility for accuracy. Readers can challenge a statement, provide a missing source or request a correction through the contact information published on this site.
CORRECTIONS
If we get something wrong, we want to know.
Corrections are part of the public record too. If you believe a factual statement is inaccurate, incomplete in a materially misleading way or based on an outdated source, email contact@enidpublicrecord.com.
Please identify the page, the statement at issue and—when available—the source that supports the correction. We will review the underlying record and update the page when a correction is warranted.
Our standard: Correct factual errors clearly. Add important missing context when it materially changes understanding. Do not quietly rewrite a disputed fact merely because someone dislikes the conclusion.
